Title: Narcissism in Emotional Script Killing
Abstract: The steady economic expansion of the script killing obscures its unique emotional aesthetic syndrome the increasingly pronounced distinction between playfulness and literary elements within its internal categories has led to the emergence of narcissistic tendencies in the emotional collection, which are mediated by emotional labor and take the form of self-appreciation. Although sharing amateur performance characteristics with the “Amateur Theater” movement, emotional scripts reinforce players emotional biases through the pursuit of deep self-immersion, facilitated by role-dressing and psychological testing. The core emphasis on performance over reasoning subject players to the dual impact of emotional experience and dramatic skills within self-entertaining consumption, thereby reversing the subject-object hierarchy between consumers and merchants. Induced by commercialized plot designs and emotional atmospheric rendering, certain players fall into an emotional vortex of “narcissism and obedience”, where intensified self-identification leads to higher expectations for emotional services. To address this literary syndrome, it is imperative to return to the interweaving standpoint of literature and ethics, reaffirming the inclusion of “the Other” and heterogeneous experiences while exploring the possibility of reshaping the emotional subject.
