Title: Study on the Dissemination and Reception of Popular Literature in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao in the 21st Century

Abstract: In the 21st century, Cantonese, Hong Kong and Macao popular literature has entered into a new form of development, and has been upgraded and innovated in the three communication contexts of cross-media communication, folk communication and international communication, so as to realize the effective dissemination of popular literature in the present time. Cantonese, Hong Kong and Macao popular literature have continuously migrated to television, cell phones, computers and various types of mobile terminals, ultimately forming the present cross-media communication pattern of multi-screen coexistence and integrated media development. In folklore dissemination, popular literature is committed to evoking resonance, enhancing interaction, and pleasing the public, and recreating the logic of dialogue and existence in the new century with new media languages and creative methods while nationalizing traditional popular literature. The specificity of popular literature in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao also lies in the fact that it relies on important cities such as Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Macao to expand the export of cultural industries, “borrowing the ship to go to sea”, and boosting the “going out” of Chinese popular literature.
